Your own fishing map, grown by you.

HITOSHIO is an iPhone and Android app that brings together tides, weather and a fishing-chance guide for your own points, plus a fishing diary. Besides public points such as fishing ports and sea-fishing facilities, you can register any spot on the map, a rocky shore or the tip of a breakwater, as your own point and see the same information there.

After a day out, pick your photos and videos and they become a timeline in shooting order, with catches and the time of each hit. Records can be shared as a tall image or a card with friends who don’t have the app. As records build up, the times you caught fish at a point are overlaid on its fishing-chance graph, and your own spots start to show their patterns.

Key features

  • Any spot on the map as your own point

Line up the crosshair with “ここを登録” (Register here) and give it a name. You get the same tide, weather and fishing-chance view as for public points.

  • Tides and a fishing-chance guide

Based on the Japan Meteorological Agency’s predicted tides, see high and low tide times and the tide movement. Tide movement, dawn and dusk, wind and rain give a 0–23 h fishing-chance guide as a bar chart.

  • Weather, wind and warnings per point

Apple Weather conditions, temperature, precipitation chance, wind and UV every 3 hours. JMA weather warnings and advisories appear for the point’s area.

  • “Today” while you fish

Register one point to Today and check the current chance, the chance time and hourly weather, wind and tide level at a glance.

  • A diary of photos and videos

Choose a cover photo, date and point, pick photos and videos, and they line up as a timeline in shooting order. Record species, count, size and the time of each hit.

  • Share as an image

Turn a record into a tall image or a card to send through LINE or other apps. Location can be “none” or “region”, and coordinates and photo location metadata are never included.

Add even a secret spot from the map

Pick a place on the map and register it. Your own point shows the same tide, weather and fishing-chance view as a public point, right away.

Keep a fishing day beautifully

Under the cover photo, date and title, photos and videos line up in shooting order. Weather, wind and tide are recorded automatically when you save.

While fishing: when will they bite today?

For the point registered to Today, see the current chance, the chance time and hourly weather, wind and tide level on one screen.

Who it’s for

  • You have your own fishing spots

When you don’t want to look up tides and weather in separate apps for a rocky shore or breakwater that isn’t on any list.

  • You want to keep fishing records

When you want catches and photos tied to the point so you can look back later.

  • You want to show friends easily

When you want to share a trip with friends who don’t have the app, in a single image.

Compatibility and essentials

iPhone / Android
Operating system
iOS 26.0 or later / Android 8.0 or later

In development
  • The app interface is currently in Japanese. Tide levels, warnings and public points cover Japan.
  • Weather, wind, tides and the fishing-chance guide are estimates and do not guarantee catches or safety. Tide levels are JMA predicted values and do not reflect weather effects.
  • The basic features are free, and the free version shows ads in the diary list. HITOSHIO Plus, an auto-renewing subscription, removes ads and extends the fishing-chance and tide days and the favourites limit. It is purchased through App Store or Google Play in-app billing.
  • Fetching weather requires an internet connection. Diaries, photos and points are stored on the device.
  • The Android version uses Google Maps and does not offer Apple Maps facility search, Look Around imagery or the photo-location map in record details. The promotional images show the iPhone version.
